BWIO Fest is a full-day virtual event being curated by Renee Ombaba, the founder of Black Women in Opera (B.W.I.O), LLC. BWIO Fest will bring together the opera community to discuss the special needs of marginalized opera singers and create community filled with joy, information, and hope. As audition season approaches, BWIO Fest will give young and established opera singers the tools necessary to feel more confident in their abilities and presentation. BWIO Fest will provide a space for classical artists to explore their talents, plan for their career, and develop a strong sense of self. We this year’s theme Reclaiming we are reclaiming the true narrative of Black opera history and equipping its future with the artists and administrators that continue the strong legacy. Early bird tickets are $25 until September 10.
